Literature Text
The wind blew through trees near the river
And the leaves on the ground gave a quiver
The mare came closer
And eyed the composer
Whose gaze she returned with a shiver
Blue shimmers highlighted her mane
Matchless she was, far from plain
With bi-colour eyes
She stared in surprise
At the stranger within her domain
The stranger stood still to admire
Her colours, like sparks from a fire
Pink, purple and blue
Of a breath-taking hue
The guest’s heart overflowed with desire
The mare was pure and unspoiled
Her coat appeared clean and unsoiled
Innocent and artless
Inspiring the heartless
Under thin skin, her muscles laid coiled
The calm broke at a sudden distraction
To run was the mare’s reaction
She gave a quick twirl
The wind started to swirl
And thus ended the brief interaction
And the leaves on the ground gave a quiver
The mare came closer
And eyed the composer
Whose gaze she returned with a shiver
Blue shimmers highlighted her mane
Matchless she was, far from plain
With bi-colour eyes
She stared in surprise
At the stranger within her domain
The stranger stood still to admire
Her colours, like sparks from a fire

Her coat appeared clean and unsoiled
Innocent and artless
Inspiring the heartless
Under thin skin, her muscles laid coiled
The calm broke at a sudden distraction

Poetry isn't really my thing, but I occasionally enjoy writing limericks like this. Whether they make sense or not is a whole different story.
